“Cold-side lag” is the term used to describe a lag position, which gives the attacker a view of the underside of the bogey.

“Hot-side lag” is the term used to describe a lag position, which give the attacker a view of the topside of the bogey.

Below are examples of Cold-side "Pure pursuit" and "Lead pursuit". If you go back to the pursuit curves thread you will be able to see examples of some Hot-side pursuit curves.

It does not make a difference if it is cold or hot pursuit the way pursuit curves work are the same for both.
